National Hydrograph Network Stations
Backgrounds:
Geological Survey of India established Network in 1969
Central Ground Water Board expanded it under every five-year plan
   
   
   
 
Activities :  
Site selection for representative locations
Inventory and set-up of observation marks
Regular replacements of defunct wells
Construction of purpose built piezometers
Optimisation of network stations
Achievements :
Water level measurement is being undertaken four times in a year. Based on the water level data depth to water level(Pre & Post monsoon), fluctuation maps & long term water level trend are being prepared. An yearly year book on Hydrograph Stations is available with the Deptt.
