The State Report i.e. Hydrogeology of Chhattisgarh has been released by hon'ble chief minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh which embodies the data, analysis and recommendations pertaining to ground water exploration, ground water level, quantity and quality of ground water in space and time in the state. | |

A total area of around 94000 km2 has been covered under reappraisal Survey in 13 disiricts. Guidelines for Reappraisal Hydrogeological Surveys was prepared by a team led by Sri D S Thambi of CGWB,NCCR,Raipur. | |

Potential aquifers have been identified and delineated in drought prone and tribal areas of the state. Till March 2005, about 717 Exploratory wells have been drilled in the entire length and breadth of the state including 300 wells constructed under Accelerated Exploration Programme. So far 646 wells have been handed over to the state government | |

A total of 728 VES (Vertical Electrical Sounding) have been carried out for pinpointing of sites of exploratory wells | |

Arsenic contamination in ground water has been reported in Chowki block of Rajnandgaon district. A detailed study has been taken up by this office to assess the status of ground water pollution and to look for alternative sources to provide safe drinking water. | |

Dynamic Ground water Resources Of all the 146 blocks of the state as on March 2004 have been estiamted on the basis of the methodology suggested by GEC'97. | |

CGWB Raipur has assisted the Govt. of Chhattisgarh in pinpointing of sites and other technical aspects for construction of subsurface dyke at Chokra Nala.Raipur. Sub surface dyke cum check dam at Borjhara Nala, Roof Top Rain Water Harvesting structures have been installed in the campus of CM’s Bungalow, Rajbhavan and Central Excise Office etc on the basis of studies carried out by CGWB,Raipur. | |
